God is the strength...

And Wiji suddenly started to sing "God Is The Strength"

His version:

God is the strent
Of my heart (3x)
my poshon
ever.

My four-year old little critic

In reference to my recent posting in my main blog, as we were watching our wedding video, little Wiji made, though unsolicited, some nasty yet funny remarks.

(MTV of our wedding video plays. Upbeat tune, Dawson's Creek theme song and shows me being made up.)

Wiji : (Laughing) You look panget Mum.
Me : (appalled) Why so?
Wiji : (Just kept laughing) You look funny. Why's your hair like that??? (pertaining to my rollers.)
Me : (I see.)

(Then, flashed a completely made-up bride dressed in a wedding gown.)
Wiji : Wow, you're beautiful Mom.
Me : (Nice comeback son, or else, you'll be hitting the sack ASAP.)

(On to the next portion, shows Louie waiting at the church)

Wiji : Daddy your ears are big! (Laughing)

That cracked up hubby.

The following day,
Luis : "Mommy can I watch you marry again?"
Me : Um, we'll do it next time, when mommy and daddy celebrates their wedding day.

Um, no. I wasn't afraid of any further embarrassment. I was actually very happy that he appreciates our wedding video. :)

I wonder what Leon's reaction going to be when he sees the video three years from now.

That Jesus Song

"I'm gonna read God's word
In my heart, it's the lamp unto my feet
I'm gonna sing God's word
Everyday it's my food my bread and meat
I'm gonna stand at the truth of the Bible
I'm gonna open my eyes, I'm gonna memorize..."

Daddy Louie has introduced Luis to yet another worship song. This time it is apt for his age. It's one from Psalty's Lil Praise Collection called the "Bible Alphabet Song".

It is sang by kids with a very upbeat tune and each letter corresponds to a verse in the Bible including the Book/Chapter it was taken from. Hubby learned this song when he used to go to Saturday Bible School in Manila when he was a kid.

One Friday night, he thought of googling for an mp3 and viola! He found one and immediately made us listen to it. Now Luis calls it, "Jesus song!". Whenever he is bored being a backseat passenger, he'd ask his dad for his pda and would play "Jesus song" mp3. He incredibly enjoys singing and dancing with his "Jesus song".

Faith in Jesus is a legacy that my husband surely wants to pass on to our kids. Luis is a keen emulator of his dad and a receptive learner. But it doesn't take much for him to appreciate who is Jesus and why we have a God.
